For Crisis Situations call NH Rapid Response

As of January 1, 2022, the NH Rapid Response Access Point is available to all NH residents by calling 833-710-6477. This is an additional and valuable resource for NH residents who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) of The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester will now work in conjunction with the NH Rapid Response system.

NH Rapid Response Access Point is a statewide effort initiated by the NH Department of Health and Human Services and Bureau of Behavioral Health and being implemented in collaboration with community mental centers statewide.

Voted as Family Favorite for 5th Year

Thank you to all our friends and supporters for voting in the Parenting NH annual Family Family poll over the summer. The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester and Bedford Counseling Associates was named again in 2018 as the Family Favorite in the Mental Health and Counseling Services category.  We appreciate your votes and your support.

Our agency strives to provide the best evidence-based behavioral health practices in New Hampshire as we serve all age groups from childhood to older adult. Our system of care is the largest outpatient provider in the state and work hard to add new programs and services each year to meet the needs of those who are affected by mental illness.

Fall Dinner Benefit for Mental Health to feature former MLB player Bob Tewksbury

The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester will be hosting the Annual Dinner and Awards Benefit for Mental Health on Monday, October 22nd in Manchester, NH. Awards will also be presented to the 2018 recipients of the Wheelock-Nardi Advocacy Award and Community Leadership Award.  All proceeds will help to enhance outreach efforts and services in treating community members of all age groups.

Robert Tewskbuty, former MLB pitcher and author of “Ninety Percent Mental,”  will be the featured event speaker. Bob has a unique professional resume which combines an eighteen-year professional baseball career with a master’s degree in sport psychology and counseling from Boston University and is currently a Mental Performance Coach for the San Francisco Giants. Bob won 110 major league games pitching for six teams; the NY Yankees, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres and Minnesota Twins and was a member of the 1992 National League All-Star team.

Support Mental Wellness and Stand up to Stigma

It’s time for the annual run/walk for mental health 5k in Manchester. The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester will host the 9th annul Lite up the Nite for Mental Health 5k on Thursday, June 21st.  This year it will be held in a new location, at Livingston Park. The annual community event is the only run/walk for mental health in the state of New Hampshire@

Please participate in this annual run/walk for mental health and show your support for mental wellness by wearing bright and neon apparel. Each year one in five people are affected by some form of mental illness in the U.S. We need to support those who are challenged every day with the illness and show family and friends who are affected that their illness matters just as much as a physical illness. BCA Named as Family Favorite for Mental Health Counseling

For the 4th year in a row, The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester & Bedford Counseling Associates have been selected by the readers of Parenting New Hampshire as a “Family Favorite” award recipient in the category of Mental Health and Counseling Service.

PrintThe Family Favorite awards, now in its seventh year, is a program that recognizes family-friendly businesses, services and places in almost 60 categories – as chosen by the readers of Parenting New Hampshire magazine.

The Family Favorite Award voting took place online from June 1 through August 15, 2017. The results of the reader’s poll will appear in the November 2017 issue of Parenting New Hampshire.



Mental Health Dinner Benefit This Fall

The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester will hold the 18th Annual Celebration for Mental Health Dinner & Awards Benefit on Monday, October 23, 2017. The event will be held at the Derryfield Country Club starting and the featured speaker will be screenwriter and author, Gloria Norris.

Gloria spent her childhood years in the projects of Manchester, NH  which are the backdrop for her book, Kookooland. Autographed copies of the book will be sold after the dinner and program on 10/23/17.

Presentations for the Community Leadership and the Annual Wheelock-Nardi Advocacy Awards will also take place during the benefit. All proceeds support family wellness services. For more information on the event, click here.

New Tasting Event and Fundraiser for Mental Health

sas-avatarThe Mental Health Center is happy to announce a new community event which compliments The Center’s on-going efforts to publicly battle the stigma associated with mental illness.

Samples Against StigmaA benefit Auction and Tasting of local comfort foods and NH craft beverages will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. (This event was originally scheduled for Thurs., Feb. 9, but due to a winter storm advisory it was postponed until Feb. 21.)

Food and beverage options will be diverse and will be intermingled with over 50 silent auction items and many beautiful themed raffle baskets.  Local food favorites will be offered as well as a variety of locally crafted beverage options.
